Hey Lori,
Thanks for doing such a great job keeping us all up to date on BMC happenings. I'll fill you in our family. August 2007 Dan and I moved to Beaufort,SC. We already owned a lot in Habersham, a planned urban community, and rented here until our house was ready. We got into our house just before Thanksgiving and are still in the throws of unpacking between holidays and family obligations.
Dan is doing well and is working from home and only traveling once or twice a month. Right now he is working with the Army consulting on construction and operation of facilities built to destroy chemical weapons. They are literally making plowshares out of swords. John Deere is buying the cleaned metal. He is enjoying the lack of yard work. We traded 100 acres with a 2+ acre yard for a 1/4 acre lot with just enough grass in front to be able to use an "ole-timey" reel mower. Our community has many green spaces and beautiful live oaks and we're about a block from the river, so we still get to enjoy nature without having to keep it up.
I thought I had retired when I moved here, but I guess I didn't have the teaching bug out just yet. I applied to sub for the Department of Defense schools here serving Parris Islalnd and Marine Air Corps Station. A kindergarten job was available. I applied and got it. I really enjoyed teaching there and felt like it was something I could do to help our military families. Please continue to keep our military and their families in your prayers. The spouses and children left behind are often forgotten in the big scheme of things, but they are extremely brave as well. I decided to just sub this year, and I've done a nine-week Spanish interim for second graders and a two week lst grade stint. I took this year off from full-time work so I could travel with Erin, our daughter, while she went on interviews.
Erin is a 4th year medical student at Univerisity of Tennessee, Memphis. She'll be graduating on May 29, 2009. During November and December we traveled throughout the southeast. She interviewed from Memphis to Charleston, SC and Savannah to Washington, D.C. We'll find out on March 19 where she'll be spending the next four years for her internship and residency in OB/GYN. We hope it is near us!
Chris graduated from the US Naval Academy, following in his dad's footsteps, in May 2007. He majored in mechanical engineering and his first assignment is aboard the USS Philippine Sea, a guided missile cruiser. He has been deployed several times already, once to the Middle East last winter. He is just returning from Rhode Island, where he finished the last steps to receive his Surface Warfare Officer pin. In March he will be deploying again we think. With the military, you don't count on where you are going until you get there. Please keep Chris and his shipmates in your prayers as they serve our country.
Well, that's the Stover family bio in a nutshell. Unfortunately, I will not be able to be with you in June. My sister, brother-in-law and their three daughters and families are coming to Beaufort the first week in June to celebrate Erin's graduation. Have fun and hug Nona Kay for me.
Beaufort is a gorgeous place to visit. We are about 90 minutes from Charleston and 45 from Savannah. Hilton Head is about 30-45 depending on traffic.
If you get over this way, please call. I'll be your personal tour guide. My home number is 843-379-8268 and cell is 931-205-4829. Our new address in
47 James Habersham, Beaufort, SC 29906.
Take care!
Love,
Pat Stover
P.S. While unpacking I found Darlene Hutson's 1975 Mountaineer. Obviously I am finally getting to boxes I have carried but not opened throughout all my many moves. If anyone knows Darlene's address, let me know. Darlene, if you're out there, contact me. I'll send it to you.

Kitty Sanders King '72 and Deborah Carter Sanders ' 74 (along with spouses and others) are going to Israel March 12. Two of Kitty's brothers are also going.
Jeffrey and Rosie King (son of Charles and Kitty) are expecting a baby July 16. They are excited. This is the first and Kitty is already 58! We have a "Jude" and "Titus" and "Able" among friends, so Kitty has told Jeffrey they will need to name theirs "Philemon". (or Philomena).
Rosie received one of 2 educational awards in Mississippi. The McMIlan foundation gives these out, and she will received $25000.00. Jeffrey is a loan officer at Bank of Holly Springs.
Robin's husband, David Cole, graduated from Mid-America Seminary December 12, 2008. He received an award in the missiology field. He teaches an Hispanice Bible study on Wednesday nights.
Robin works at Ozark Motor Line. She just finished an Evangelism Explosion class as one of the prep courses for applying with the International Mission Board as carrer missionaries.
Dick and Deborah Sanders are staying well. Dick had an emergency appendectomy in October. Their 32 year old son Adam had an emergency appendectomy in December! David and Kurt should ask for a group rate and just have theirs out. David is 21 and engaged to SarahJane Butler. The wedding is set for June, 2009. Everyone one the family loves her.
Kurt and Emily's younger son, Cade, is 21 months old. He is basically doing well, but they have to deal with his DiGeorge Syndrome. This is a condition in which genetic material is missing from the 22nd chromosone. It has caused him heart, breathing, aspiration, overactivity, growth and speech problems. But he is the cutest little red-haired brown-eyed boy.
He can't say many words, but he's as sharp as a tack. He can wear a weighted vest for an hour and it calms him down for several hours. He climbs everthing and one day he was swinging from the kitchen ceiling light! Walker, 4, is their other son. He loves rodes and riding.
Adam and Tabatha have three boys 2-10, Carter, Lee, and Able that keep them busy.

Connecting
Isn't it wonderful to connect with old friends (and I use that term loosely)! If you can't figure out how to comment or write your own "note" on this blog, just email me and I will be glad to put it on there for you. I'm so excited to see so many of you reconnecting. If you know of other BMC cutie pies that you would like for me to contact concerning this blog or the newsletter I send out, just send me their info. I'll be glad to get in touch with them!

It is funny how the years have gone by so quickly but how normal it seems when we see the ones that meant so much to us during our years at BMC. Glendis and I have stayed close since she became my big sis. I have spent Thanksgiving with her in-laws (yes, in-laws Billy’s parents) since Glendis married Billy. 30 + years.
They love me!! What can I say of course. :o) Her kids are like my kids and I am sure the children they have will be part mine too. Glendis lives about 1 hour away and we try to visit from time to time. Teaching school and Athletic Director does not give me a lot of time but we do the holidays for sure. She has meant the world to me as we grow older I even feel closer to her. I can remember Aunt Anita Crump Eddings and Glendis hanging around the bamboo suite in Lowry. OH MY GOODNESS. That was always the place to hang out. I would watch Anita and Steve in the parlor (they did not know). Steve would laugh at me as I would leave to go run in the coldest of weather in shorts and t shirt and come back in red as a beet.
I was in need of more than 1 care taker and seemed to have my share of them with Anita, Joy, Lori, Amy, Glendis, Leah, Robin just to name a few that I always depended on that made BMC even more special.
Gosh remember the fire the 1st week we were there. That was big trouble. We did not sign out, left campus after hours, not dressed in the proper clothing just to name a few. Had to go before SGA Joy Hurt president. They all thought they were sooo funny making me wait til last and gave me such a hard time about the mishap. Got off track a little but you get the point. Lots of great memories with soooo many of you. Would not trade a single one of them either.
Happy New year to all.

Hey, Lori--
Thanks so much for doing this. I remember Big/Lil' Sis week like it was yesterday! Susie McGee was the only Lil' Sis I wanted! I had to work hard to get her because someone else wanted her too!! I was so blessed to have her want me to be her Big Sis!! What a gift for God to give us both a relationship that has lasted a lifetime and only deepened in love, laughter, respect and admiration!!
I have a Little Sis that I love with my whole heart and soul and I am so proud of her!!! Please print this message from up here in Virginia to my precious Little Sis that I adore!!!
I love you, Sus!!!
